Play Park Gold Tower is a striking 158-meter tall tower located in Utazu, Kagawa Prefecture. Its exterior is uniquely designed with 6,917 gold half-mirrors that reflect the surrounding landscape, creating a shimmering effect. Following a major renewal in 2020, the tower introduced 'Sorakin,' a breathtaking 'Sky Aquarium' that offers a unique way to experience aquatic life. The facility is packed with entertainment, including a dedicated 'Park' area featuring a castle-themed ball pool and various interactive play elements designed for all ages.
The tower originally opened on March 18, 1988. Over the years, it has undergone various management changes and was revitalized to meet modern entertainment needs. Currently managed by Sanuki Co., Ltd., the tower underwent a significant transformation in March 2020 with the launch of the 'Sorakin' concept, centering on goldfish displays and a new way to experience an aquarium from a high altitude.
The most captivating feature is the 'Sorakin' Sky Aquarium, where visitors can enjoy a mesmerizing space centered around beautiful fish tank displays. For children, the 'Park' area offers endless fun with a castle-shaped ball pool and a whale-themed slider. As night falls, the tower becomes a spectacle of light. The illumination color changes based on the next day's weather forecast: a blue light is displayed if rain is expected, while a yellow light is used for clear weather, providing a dynamic visual experience.
The nighttime illumination provides a beautiful and serene view to end your day. Because the light color changes according to the weather, the tower offers a different visual charm depending on when you visit. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the tower remains open until 10:00 PM, making it an excellent destination for late-evening sightseeing.
Visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities with family and friends. Children will love the castle-themed ball pool and various play structures.
