Pippu Ski Resort is a premier destination where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range and the vast Kamikawa Basin. True to its spirit of "Play on the Powder in the Heart of Hokkaido," the resort's greatest draw is the opportunity to experience world-class powder snow. As one of the largest ski areas in the northern Hokkaido region, the resort features a wide variety of courses designed to satisfy everyone from absolute beginners to seasoned veterans.
Nestled within the rich natural environment of Hokkaido, this area has long been celebrated for its pristine snow quality and stunning landscapes at the foot of the Daisetsuzan Mountains. Pippu Ski Resort has been carefully developed to allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the essence of a Hokkaido winter. As a resort deeply rooted in the local community, it promotes the charm of Hokkaido through winter sports while maintaining a harmonious relationship with the surrounding natural environment.
The highlight of the resort is undoubtedly the overwhelming panoramic view of the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range. The scenery from the slopes is as beautiful as a landscape painting. Additionally, the resort offers 9 diverse courses, allowing you to tailor your skiing experience to your specific skill level. From gentle slopes perfect for families to more technical terrain for advanced skiers, the layout ensures an enjoyable experience for all guests.
The best time to visit is from late December to mid-March. January and February are particularly recommended, as the snow quality is most stable, allowing you to fully enjoy the legendary Hokkaido powder snow. During the main daytime hours (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM), we recommend skiing while enjoying the bright sunlight and expansive views. For a unique experience, night skiing is also available until late February (operating from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM or 9:00 PM), allowing you to enjoy the serenity of the mountains under the night sky.
Beyond skiing and snowboarding, the resort offers various activities suitable for families, such as sledding. Because the beginner-friendly courses are well-maintained, even those trying snow sports for the first time can participate with confidence. The exhilaration of gliding down these vast slopes provides a refreshing escape from daily life.
The resort is conveniently located with good access to major cities like Asahikawa. You can reach the area via the Dohoku Bus from Asahikawa Station. Additionally, a free shuttle bus runs daily from Pippu Station, making arrival smooth and easy. The surrounding area is rich in nature, making it an excellent base for exploring winter tourism in Hokkaido.
