Ogose Bairin is a renowned plum blossom destination located in Ogose Town, Saitama Prefecture. Recognized as one of the three great plum groves in the Kanto region, the site features a vast landscape of plum trees spread across approximately 2 hectares. The area draws many visitors during the annual 'Plum Festival' held from mid-February to mid-March.
The region has a long-standing tradition of plum cultivation. Historically, the area was known for its abundant plum trees, a legacy that has been preserved through generations to form the beautiful grove seen today. This landscape is a cherished part of the local culture and natural heritage.

The grove features various varieties of plum trees, including Shiro Kaga, Beniume (Red Plum), and Ogose Noume. The sight of these diverse blossoms, especially the majestic old trees, creates a breathtaking view. During the Plum Festival, visitors can also enjoy local events that celebrate the changing seasons.
The most spectacular time to visit is during the Plum Festival from mid-February to mid-March, when the blossoms are at their peak. Visiting during daylight hours allows for a detailed view of the delicate colors and shapes of the flowers. On certain weekends during the festival, special activities like mini steam locomotive (SL) runs may be available.
Visitors can enjoy peaceful strolls through nature. Depending on the season, you may encounter local cultural events. The area is also suitable for light hiking, allowing you to explore the surrounding natural environment alongside the seasonal blooms.
The area is surrounded by lush nature and parks. For example, Godaison Tsutsuji Park offers beautiful views of azaleas from April to May, while Yamabuki no Sato Historical Park features seasonal yellow rose (Yamabuki) blooms. You can easily plan a scenic route combining these natural landmarks.
