Ose Beach is a stunning coastal destination located in Nishiura-Eari, Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Because it faces a calm inner sea, the waves are gentle, providing a safe environment for water activities even for beginners. The most striking feature is the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji rising above the ocean. Furthermore, due to its exceptional water quality, it has been selected as one of the "100 Best Water Bathing Beaches" by the Ministry of the Environment. This makes it a highly popular spot for diving enthusiasts and travelers seeking high-transparency waters throughout the year.
This region has long been celebrated as a scenic landmark. The location, offering a direct view of Mt. la Fuji, has attracted visitors for centuries. In 2006, the area's environmental beauty and water quality were officially recognized when it was selected for the Ministry of the Environment's list of top beaches. The area maintains a history of welcoming tourists while strictly preserving its natural ecosystem and local environment.
The greatest allure of Ose Beach is the sight of Mt. Fuji standing majestically beyond the horizon. On clear days, you can capture stunning photographs of the contrast between the deep blue sea and the iconic mountain. The depth and topography of the seabed make it an exceptional location for snorkeling and scuba diving. Observing the diverse marine ecosystem is a unique experience found here. The beach features a sandy shore approximately 50 meters wide and a coastline of about 360 meters, offering a sense of openness and relaxation.
The beach is primarily open during the summer season (around July to August). To make the most of your water activities, it is best to visit during the official operating hours (for example, 09:30 to 16:00). The morning hours are often ideal for observing Mt. Fuji clearly, as the air is crisp and the sea is exceptionally calm. During the bright midday hours, the water transparency is at its peak, providing excellent visibility for snorkeling and diving. Toward the evening, you can enjoy the beautiful shifting colors of the sky over the ocean.
You can enjoy a variety of marine leisure activities that utilize the natural topography. The most representative activities are snorkeling and scuba diving, where you can observe diverse marine life in clear waters. The calm waves also make the area suitable for Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP). You can plan your activities through various local leisure facilities and rental shops in the area.
There are several spots nearby where you can experience local nature and culture. For instance, you can visit Ose Shrine, located on a hill overlooking the sea, or the
