Guide
Sakai City Big Bang is a large-scale, all-weather indoor children's center located in Minami-ku, Sakai City, Osaka. The facility is uniquely designed around a space theme, with each floor offering diverse play areas tailored to children's interests and developmental stages. Because it is a fully indoor facility, you can enjoy a comfortable experience regardless of the weather—whether it is a rainy day, a scorching summer afternoon, or a cold winter day. The four-story structure features distinct themes for each level, ensuring that everyone from infants to adults can find something to enjoy.
The facility is organized by themed floors. The 1st floor, "Cosmo Port," serves as the gateway to space and includes a dedicated area for babies, a picture book corner, and a relaxation space. The 2nd floor, "Space Factory," focuses on creativity and hands-on making-and-doing activities. On the 3rd floor, "Astro Camp," visitors can engage in more active, physical play. The 4th floor offers a space designed for learning through play. Additionally, the center incorporates modern technology, such as AR (Augmented Reality) exhibits and trick-art experiences on the staircases, blending digital innovation with physical play.
As a fully indoor facility, it is suitable for any season. During long school breaks like summer or spring vacation, the center remains open on Mondays, making it an excellent option for family outings. The operating hours are from 10:00 to 17:00, with the final entry at 16:30. While you can enter in the late afternoon, we recommend visiting in the morning or early afternoon to ensure your family has ample time to explore. Please note that the facility may close for maintenance for approximately two weeks during September or January; we highly recommend checking the official website before your visit.
Beyond being a simple playground, the center provides activities that blend play with learning. For instance, the 1st-floor area offers new ways to play using digital technology. Each floor is equipped with equipment designed to promote cognitive development and physical movement suited to a child's growth stage. It is a space where families can actively engage with their environment rather than just resting.
The facility includes "Chotto Ban," a free adventure playground that offers a more open environment for physical activity. For families with small children, the center is highly accommodating, featuring dedicated stroller parking, nursing rooms, and diaper-changing stations to ensure a stress-free visit.
Since the facility is fully climate-controlled, you will be comfortable in any season. However, as many areas involve vigorous physical activity, we recommend wearing comfortable, easy-to-move-in clothing. Stroller parking is available, and strollers are welcome inside. Please be mindful of other visitors and follow the age-specific rules for each play area. For the latest information regarding payments and reservations, please consult the official website.
