Orihime Park is a vast 10.5-hectare natural park located in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture. Since its development in 1976, it has been a beloved destination for both local residents and tourists. The park's greatest draw is the Kagamiiwa Observatory located at the northern end. Situated at an elevation between 60 and 160 meters, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the vast Kanto Plain on clear days. Furthermore, the park was officially registered as a "Japanese Nightscape Heritage" site in 2014, earning high acclaim for its spectacular nocturnal scenery.
The park is steeped in local history and culture. The adjacent Orihime Shrine serves as a starting point for hiking trails within the Ashikaga Prefectural Natural Park, reflecting the long-standing relationship between local spiritual beliefs and the natural environment. This area serves as both a vital site for nature conservation and a peaceful sanctuary for the community.

The scenery changes dramatically with the seasons. Spring (March–May) brings cherry blossoms and azaleas, while autumn (September–November) offers brilliant foliage. We highly recommend visiting at night to experience the mystical atmosphere of the registered Japanese Nightscape Heritage, which offers a completely different sensation than the daytime views.
Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls or use the park as a starting point for hiking trails within the Ashikaga Prefectural Natural Park.
