Onokoro Jinja (Onokorojima Jinja) is a significant shrine located in Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. This site is renowned as the sacred stage for the creation of the Japanese islands in ancient mythology. The most striking feature is the massive Great Torii gate, standing at a height of 21.7 meters. This landmark is celebrated as one of the "Three Great Torii of Japan," alongside Heian Jingu in Kyoto and Itsukushima Shrine in Hiroshima. The shrine is deeply connected to the primordial story of the deities Izanagi and Izanami creating the land of Japan.
