Omocha Okoku, located in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, is a unique theme park based on the concept of a "Toy Museum" where various toys from across the globe are celebrated. Rather than a standard amusement park, this facility is built through collaborations with numerous toy manufacturers. Visitors can experience worlds filled with beloved characters and products from brands such as Takara Tomy—including Licca-chan, Tomica, and Plarail—as well as Sanrio characters. The park offers a diverse range of experiences through both indoor and outdoor attractions, making it a versatile destination for children.
The park opened on April 27, 1996, in Tamano City, Okayama. It was established on the site of the former "Oji Fancy Land," evolving into the brand known today as Omocha Okoku. The facility serves as a central hub for the Omocha Okoku group, which manages several themed locations across Japan. Over the years, the park has refined its concept to become a premier destination for toy-themed entertainment, successfully transitioning through various changes in the leisure industry to establish its current identity.
The park features various exhibits and attractions where children can interact with products from famous toy manufacturers. Areas dedicated to Takara Tomy products and Sanrio characters are particularly popular and highly engaging for young visitors. A highlight is the "Omocha no Oheya" (Toy Room), an indoor facility where children can enjoy play areas related to characters like Licca-chan, Tomica, Plarail, Sylvanian Families, and Dia Block. Because these areas are indoors, guests can enjoy themselves regardless of the weather.
Omocha Okoku is accessible throughout the year. During the summer months (July and August), special events such as "Omocha Okoku Chappuru!" may be held. It is also important to note that during long holiday periods like Spring Break, Summer Vacation, or Golden Week, the park often changes its standard operating schedule (which usually includes being closed on Tuesdays) to remain open for the holidays. We recommend checking the official event schedule for seasonal stamp rallies or special programs before your visit.
Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities, from riding amusement park rides to exploring nature-themed athletic areas. Please note that some attractions may require an additional fee beyond the basic admission.
