Located in Tomigusoe City, Okinawa, "Ashibinaa Okinawa Outlet Mall" opened in 2002 as the first outlet mall in the prefecture. The name "Ashibinaa" means "playground" in the Okinawan dialect, reflecting its design as a place for people to gather and enjoy. Designed by the world-renowned architect John Blow, the facility boasts a beautiful landscape that blends Southern European-style architecture with the natural atmosphere of Okinawa. Visitors can explore a wide range of categories, including fashion, accessories, and lifestyle goods.
Opening on December 14, 2002, this facility became a pioneer of modern shopping culture in Okinawa. From the design phase, great care was taken to incorporate elements that harmonize with the local environment, making it not just a commercial center but a piece of significant architecture. The brand lineup includes many luxury brands that were among the first to enter the Japanese market, playing a vital role in the commercial development of Okinawa.
The facility is divided into two main areas: the 1st-floor shopping area and the 2nd-floor dining area. The 1st floor hosts 55 stores selling fashion, apparel, and accessories, featuring famous brands such as Adidas, Levi's, Coach, and Jimmy Choo. The "Ashibinaa Plaza" also serves as a venue for various events. On the 2nd floor, you will find a food court and restaurants with approximately 600 seats, providing a perfect space for rest and meals.
The mall is open year-round. During the bright daylight hours, the Southern European design is particularly striking, offering an open and breezy atmosphere for shopping. To travel efficiently, you can use the free shuttle bus that runs every 30 minutes between the mall and iias Okinawa Toyosaki during operating hours (10:00 AM to 8:00 PM). The quieter evening hours are also ideal for a relaxing meal at the restaurants.
