Operating hours vary depending on the season. From March 1st to mid-December, the facility is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. From mid-December to the end of February, winter hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Daytime is the best time to visit to observe the intricate details of the architecture and streetscape. Since seasonal events are often held, we recommend checking the event calendar before your visit to experience specific themed celebrations.
Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the village to soak in the atmosphere. Following designated paths allows for an efficient tour of the historical spots. For a unique experience, many visitors enjoy dressing in period-appropriate attire, such as 'Haikara-san' (high-collar/modernized) styles, to match the scenery. It is also important to check the specific closing days for individual buildings (for example, the Taisho Mura Museum is closed on Tuesdays, and the Taisho Roman Museum is closed on Wednesdays). While photography of the scenery is generally permitted, please follow the specific rules posted at each facility.
