Nagaregawa Cherry Blossom Trees is a stunning cherry blossom destination located along the Kose River in the Nagaregawa district of Ukiha City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The cherry trees line the river for approximately 2km, creating a breathtaking landscape as spring arrives. With the majestic Ena Mountain range serving as a backdrop, this site offers one of the largest and most spectacular spring vistas in the Chikestu region, where the beauty of nature and the blossoms perfectly harmonize.
This region has long been blessed with a rich natural landscape, and the seasonal beauty of the changing scenery has been cherished by locals for generations. The Nagaregawa cherry blossoms are a symbol of the local landscape, loved by both residents and tourists alike as a premier destination for 'Hanami' (cherry blossom viewing) every spring.

The greatest draw is the continuous row of cherry trees following the curve of the river. A walking path allows visitors to stroll beneath the canopy of blossoms. A particularly popular sight is the vibrant color contrast between the pink cherry blossoms and the yellow rapeseed flowers (nanohana) blooming along the riverbanks. Additionally, during the evening, the scenery is illuminated by streetlights, offering a completely different, magical atmosphere compared to the daytime.
The best time to visit is during the peak cherry blossom season, typically from late March to early April. During the day, the contrast between the blue sky and the pink blossoms is stunning. If the area provides light-ups, visiting at night is highly recommended to see the blossoms reflected in the quiet river surface.
The primary way to enjoy this area is by strolling along the riverside paths. Walking through the 'cherry blossom tunnel' allows you to feel the fresh spring air and immerse yourself in nature. It is also an exceptional spot for photography, where you can capture the harmony of natural beauty and artificial lighting.
Nagaregawa is situated in a nature-rich part of Ukiha City. The surrounding area features historical buildings and scenic landscapes, making it a perfect destination for a scenic drive or a relaxing walk. We recommend combining this visit with other sightseeing spots in the Chikushi region to fully experience the natural beauty of Fukuoka.
We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes for your stroll. As the riverside paths follow the natural terrain, some sections may be narrow. Please dress appropriately for spring weather.
