The Mizuki Ruins are the remains of an ancient 7th-century fortress spanning the cities of Onojo, Dazaifu, and Kasuga in Fukuoka Prefecture. Designated as a Special Historic Site of Japan, the area preserves massive structures that demonstrate the advanced civil engineering techniques of the era. The site features a wide outer moat approximately 60m wide and a double-layered earthen rampart stretching 1.2km with a height of about 9m, serving as a grand defensive system integrated with the natural landscape.
