Guide
Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari is a premier outlet shopping destination located in the Makuhari New City area of Mihama-ku, Chiba City. It offers a curated selection of high-quality items from famous domestic and international manufacturers, brands, and select shops at much lower outlet prices. The facility is divided into four distinct areas—A-SITE, B-SITE, C-SITE, and D-SITE—ensuring a vast variety of product categories for every visitor.
The facility originally opened in October 2000 as "Garden Walk Makuhari." Through successive expansions and renovations in 2005 and 2015, it has grown into the large-scale complex seen today. In April 2008, it was renamed to its current name, "Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari." It serves as a central hub for shopping within the continuously developing Makuhari New City district.
The mall hosts a diverse range of shops covering fashion, sports, and lifestyle categories. Notable brands such as agnès b., COACH, Nike, ASICS, Adidas, and Levi's are among the many famous names available. The primary draw for visitors is the opportunity to purchase these premium brand products at significantly discounted prices. Beyond shopping, the facility also features a robust restaurant area for a complete dining experience.
Standard shop operating hours are from 10:00 to 20:00. The restaurant area has slightly different hours depending on the establishment; for example, venues like "The Meat Locker," "Pizzeria Trentadore," and "Chawan" typically operate from 11:00 to 21:30 (Last Order 20:30/21:00). On Fridays, Saturdays, and the days preceding public holidays, some restaurants extend their service until 22:00, allowing for a relaxed dinner. Some specific shops may also offer late-night shopping until 21:00 on certain days.
The main experience at this facility is the thrill of high-end brand shopping. Visitors can enjoy comparing various domestic and international brands to find the best deals. After shopping, you can enjoy a wide variety of cuisines, from Italian to Japanese, in the restaurant area. It is common to take a break for a meal or a coffee in a relaxed atmosphere between shopping sessions.
The facility is exceptionally well-located, just a 1-minute walk from Kaihimmakuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line. The surrounding Makuhari New City area is a vibrant commercial district that includes other major attractions like LaLaport TOKYO-BAY. For those traveling by car, the nearest access points are the Wangan-Chiba Interchange on the Higashi-Kanto Expressway and the Makuhari Interchange on the Keiyo Road.
As the facility covers a large area, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Regarding payment, most shops accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, American Express, etc.), though some stores may require cash. The facility is designed with accessibility in mind, featuring wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, and parking spaces. While no prior reservations are required to visit, checking the crowd status beforehand can help you plan a smoother visit.
