The Mie Prefectural Museum (affectionately known as MieMu) is a public institution dedicated to showcasing the diverse charms of Mie Prefecture, focusing on its unique nature, history, and culture. Located adjacent to the Mie Prefectural Cultural Center in the outskirts of Tsu City, this expansive three-story facility covers a total floor area of 10,800 m². The predecessor to the current museum was an established institution that opened in 1953. Following a comprehensive revitalization project, the museum reopened on April 19, 2014, in its current form as "MieMu."
