Matsue Vogel Park is an all-weather theme park focused on the beauty of flowers and birds, situated in the scenic hilly area of Ogaki-cho, Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture. The park features several specialized greenhouses where flowers remain in full bloom throughout the year, alongside various bird enclosures. Because all facilities are connected by covered walkways, visitors can enjoy a comfortable stroll even during rainy weather or unstable weather conditions.
The park opened its doors on July 23, 2001. Currently operated by a designated manager of the Ichibata Electric Railway group, it has become a beloved local landmark. The facility is designed to harmonize with the natural environment, welcoming many visitors over the years with its unique blend of botanical and ornithological displays.
The centerpiece of the park is its vast display greenhouses. Beautiful flowers such as Begonias, Fuchsias, and Geraniums are showcased in full bloom regardless of the season. In the bird greenhouses, you can observe a diverse range of rare birds from across the globe. Near the entrance, there is also a specialized Owl Exhibition room. For added comfort, a 140-meter moving walkway allows you to observe the birds effortlessly while moving through the park. Since all paths and greenhouses are connected by roofed walkways, your experience will not be interrupted by the weather.
You can enjoy the breathtaking floral displays in the greenhouses regardless of the season. The Begonia and Fuchsia displays are particularly stunning and worth a visit any time of year. If you wish to participate in certain interactive experiences, please note that they may have specific end times (for example, ending at 16:45), so visiting in the early afternoon is recommended. During special event periods, the park's closing hours may be extended.
Visitors can enjoy close-up observations of various bird species and even interact with them. The Owl Exhibition room near the entrance offers a unique chance to see owls up close. Additionally, the park features the restaurant "Flora," where you can enjoy a meal while soaking in the beautiful atmosphere of the park. It is a wonderful place to slow down and enjoy a peaceful moment.
The park is conveniently located near the Ichibata Railway, with the "Matsue Vogel Park Station" just a short walk away. For those traveling by car, it is approximately a 15-minute drive from central Matsue via National Route 431. The surrounding area is dotted with various spots where you can experience the natural beauty and culture of Shimane Prefecture.
The park is designed with barrier-free accessibility, making it easy to navigate with wheelchairs. We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. While the covered walkways and greenhouses protect you from the rain, please dress appropriately for the weather.
