Marine Park Omaezaki is a coastal park located on the east side of Omaezaki Port in Omaezaki City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Facing Suruga Bay, the park features a calm, sheltered beach that is ideal for swimming. The water quality is exceptional, having received an "AA" rating in the Ministry of the Environment's water quality surveys. The park is well-equipped for long stays, featuring an auto campsite, a kids' play area, and multi-purpose spaces for various leisure activities.
The park was developed as a scenic coastal area on the eastern side of Omaezaki Port. The landscape is characterized by a tropical feel, with palm trees planted along the coastline. The beach has long been recognized as one of "Japan's 100 Best Beaches," a testament to the high standards of environmental maintenance and water quality preserved here over many years.
The park is divided into several distinct areas for different types of enjoyment. One highlight is the kids' play area, which features a 51-meter-long "Turtle Slider." For those seeking scenic views, there is an observation deck where you can see the Izu Peninsula and Mt. Fuji. The orientation board at the observatory allows you to identify landmarks ranging from Cape Irozaki in the south to the Southern Alps in the north. Additionally, the "Umi no Terrace" (Sea Terrace) located in the center of the beach offers an unobstructed, panoramic view of Suruga Bay.
The official beach season typically runs from mid-July to the end of August. During this period, the swimming area is fully operational. While the park itself is open year-round, specific water activities like banana boat rides are only available during the summer months. For the best experience, we recommend visiting during bright, sunny days to enjoy the clear views of Mt. Fuji and the Izu Peninsula.
During the summer, visitors can enjoy swimming and various water sports, including banana boat rides. For a more immersive experience, the auto campsite allows you to spend your nights listening to the soothing sound of the waves. The multi-purpose areas are also perfect for family gatherings or group outings.
To the west of Marine Park Omaezaki, you can find the Omaezaki Seafood Nabura Market. The park also features an integrated auto campsite, making it easy to enjoy overnight stays and barbecues by the sea. Please note that vehicle access to the Umi no Terrace area is strictly prohibited.
The park is open year-round, but if you plan to swim (mid-July to late August), please bring swimwear and sandals. We recommend checking details in advance for campsite reservations. Parking is free and can accommodate approximately 460 vehicles. If you are planning a large-scale event involving many vehicles, please consult with the local Commerce and Tourism Division in advance. As a reminder, driving onto the Umi no Terrace path is not permitted.
