Makunbetsu Wetland is a 130-hectare low-lying wetland located in the meandering section of the downstream Ishikari River in Ishikari, Hokkaido. A well-maintained wooden boardwalk, approximately 400 meters long and 1 meter wide, allows for easy nature observation. The path leads toward the banks of the Ishikari River, offering a clear view of the Ishikari River Mouth Bridge. It is a perfect spot for mindful walking, listening to the sounds of nature, and observing the delicate Skunk Cabbage and local bird species in a serene setting.

Located near the mouth of the Ishikari River, the wetland is a prominent landmark near the Ishikari River Mouth Bridge. The surrounding area includes recreational facilities such as the Sapporo Bay Golf Club.
