The most notable structure is the 'Jikken-kura,' a massive storehouse built in 1775 (the 4th year of the An'ei era), which is the oldest and largest of its kind in the prefecture. The estate also features a main residence built in the Meiji era, showcasing the transition to modern Japanese architectural styles. These structures offer a rare window into the traditional way of life in Japan.
The residence has been the ancestral home of the Horikiri family, a lineage that contributed significantly to the development of Iizaka. For those seeking deeper knowledge, volunteer guides are available to provide guided tours on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The entire premises is a non-smoking area. Pets are not allowed on the property. If you intend to use professional photography equipment or use footage for media/publications, you must submit a 'Permission for Action' form in advance.
