Nidec Kyoto Tower is a 131m tall landmark located right next to JR Kyoto Station, the main gateway to Kyoto. Characterized by its distinctive white, slender silhouette, the tower was designed with the concept of a "lighthouse" to illuminate the city of Kyoto. The greatest charm of the tower is its observation deck, which provides a 360-degree view of the city, allowing visitors to enjoy a completely different landscape every time they visit.
The tower was constructed to serve as a major center for Kyoto's industry, culture, and tourism, contributing to the development of the city. Even after 61 years since its construction, it continues to play a symbolic role as a landmark that warmly welcomes visitors to the city.
The upper part of the tower features an elliptical observation deck located at approximately 100m above ground. From here, you can enjoy a 360-degree panorama of the Kyoto urban area. The tower also houses a variety of facilities, including restaurants for dining, a market filled with traditional Kyoto-style souvenirs, and an on-site hotel. Free binoculars are also provided within the tower so you can examine the scenery in greater detail.
You can enjoy different views at Kyoto Tower depending on the time of day and the season. During the day, you can look out over the vast Kyoto cityscape and experience the changing colors of the four seasons. At night, you can enjoy a beautiful illuminated nightscape. Since the scenery changes significantly depending on the time, we recommend visiting during both daytime and nighttime.
Beyond viewing the scenery from the observation deck, dining and shopping within the building are also great activities. A Sky Lounge is located just below the observation deck, where you can enjoy meals alongside the view. Additionally, the basement area, "KYOTO TOWER SANDO," features a dining and shop area where you can experience Kyoto's food culture. Since the tower also houses a hotel, it can serve as a comfortable base for your stay.
Because Nidec Kyoto Tower is located very close to JR Kyoto Station, there are many sightseeing hubs in the surrounding area. With excellent transportation links from Kyoto Station to various parts of the city, it is a highly convenient location to start your sightseeing or to conclude your journey.

English signage is available, and the Kansai Information Tourist Center is nearby to assist international visitors.
Generally, no prior reservation is required to enter the observation deck, but please check the official website for current status and potential crowding.
While the observation deck is climate-controlled, please dress appropriately for the season. When taking photos, please be mindful of other guests.
Photography is permitted in the observation deck; however, please follow standard etiquette.
The tower is equipped with elevators, making it accessible for wheelchair users and those needing mobility assistance.
