Since the site is located right next to the Tendo Onsen hot spring area, it is a popular spot for travelers to enjoy a stroll through the beautiful night scenery after relaxing in the hot springs.

The peak season for the cherry blossoms is typically from mid-April to early May. For the best experience, we highly recommend visiting at night to see the illumination. The lights are usually turned on from approximately 18:30 to 22:00. As temperatures can drop significantly after sunset, it is advisable to bring a light jacket for your evening stroll. Visiting during early April when events like "Shidarezakura no Yube" are held will provide an even richer and more festive experience.
The primary activity is a leisurely stroll along the Kuratsugawa River paths to witness the full-bloom weeping cherry blossoms up close. During the illumination hours, you can walk through a dreamlike, glowing space. If your visit coincides with local festivals, you can enjoy watching traditional processions or sampling local street food from the various stalls. Combining a visit with a stay at a nearby Tendo Onsen ryokan allows for a luxurious experience of soaking in hot springs and then heading out to see the night blossoms.
The area surrounding the Kuratsugawa River is characterized by the charming streets of the Tendo Onsen hot spring district. Because access to the hot spring area is excellent, it is very easy to plan your sightseeing around your accommodation. Other nearby attractions include the "Shogi Monuments," celebrating Tendo's status as a Shogi (Japanese chess) town, and the nature-rich "Anda no Mori" forest. Many of these sites are within walking distance from Tendo Station or a short drive away, making it easy to explore the wider region.
Cash is highly recommended for food stalls and local shops in the area. Please carry small denominations and 1,000 yen notes for smooth transactions. Credit card and IC card availability varies depending on the specific stall or event.

Photography is free and encouraged, but please be mindful of other visitors when using tripods. Avoid blocking the walkways and do not touch or damage the trees.
