The Otake Kofun Cluster is a significant historical site located in Mashiko Town, Tochichi Prefecture. The site consists of 35 ancient burial mounds (kofun), 17 of which are officially registered as Tochigi Prefecture cultural assets. The greatest charm of this location is the seamless fusion of ancient historical landscapes and the ever-changing beauty of nature. During the spring season, the hills are transformed into a vibrant tapestry of color, covered in bright yellow rapeseed flowers and a diverse array of approximately 20 different varieties of cherry blossoms, welcoming visitors with an overwhelming display of natural splendor.

During certain seasonal events, visitors can enjoy special experiences such as food trucks, local stalls, and traditional tea ceremonies (Teicha) hosted by local tea enthusiasts. For general strolls, visiting during the daytime on a clear day will provide the most vivid and beautiful colors.
