Kōbuchi Forest Park is a public forest park located in Higashishikita-cho, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. Established in 1978, the park was developed from land originally used as a seedling cultivation site for the Kagawa Agricultural Experiment Station. Today, it serves as a vital community space for health promotion and forest education. The park is divided into two main areas: the "Botanical Garden Area," centered around the beautiful Kōbuchi Pond, and the "Forest Area," centered around Mt. Futago. Visitors can enjoy a deep connection with nature through well-maintained walking paths, seasonal flowers, and various camping facilities.
The park's history is rooted in its origins as a seedling cultivation site. Due to its optimal environment for plant growth, the land was later transformed into a park dedicated to forest knowledge and physical well-being. It is recognized as one of the "Kagawa Greenery 100 Selections" and is part of the "Shikoku Nature Trail"-related networks. Beyond being a simple recreation facility, it plays a crucial role in preserving and teaching the importance of the local natural environment.
The park's centerpiece is the Kōbuchi Pond. A scenic walking path circles the water, offering a tranquil stroll by the lakeside. The Botanical Garden Area features diverse seasonal displays, including cherry blossom trees, peony gardens, hydrangea gardens, peony gardens, rhododendron gardens, and iris gardens. In the Mt. Futago area, visitors can enjoy hiking trails and a mountain summit observatory that provides sweeping views. The park also includes a biotope for nature observation and a
