In 2006, it was integrated with the ruins of Kiriyama Castle, the former residence of the Kitabatake clan, and is now officially recognized as the "Taki Kitabatake Clan Castle and Residence Site (Kiriyama Castle Site)." This area served as a vital strategic and cultural hub for the samurai class in the past.
