While beautiful year-round, the best time to visit is during autumn (September to November). The trees along the river turn brilliant shades of red and yellow, creating a stunning contrast against the emerald green water. The Kinugawa area is also famous for its hot spring (onsen) resorts. After your boat ride, you can relax at a nearby hot spring hotel or explore other local attractions. There is often a set plan available with the Kinugawa Onsen Ropeway, allowing you to enjoy the scenery from two perspectives: from the river below and from the air above. The area is well-equipped with numerous accommodations and restaurants, making it an ideal base for exploring the Nikko and Kinugawa region.
