Prefectural Makuhari Seaside Park is a massive urban park located in the Makuhari New Urban Center of Mihama-ku, Chiba City. Designed under the theme of "City Park of Green and Sea," it serves as an international hub for cultural exchange. The park is divided into seven distinct areas from Block A to Block G, each offering unique features. From vast lawns and traditional Japanese gardens to sports facilities and cultural exhibition spaces, it serves as a vital recreational hub for the urban population.
The Makuhari New Urban Center was developed as a futuristic international city. To ensure the preservation of greenery and create a space for international exchange during this development, Makuhari Seaside Park was established. The park houses the Mihama-en Japanese Garden and the authentic tea house Shorai-tei, serving as a place to preserve and pass down traditional Japanese culture. Additionally, the park is designed as a crucial disaster prevention base for the local community, integrated into the city's urban planning.
The park offers a diverse range of spots for every visitor. Block A features the "Creative Plaza" and the "Sculpture and Greenery Promenade," where art and nature blend seamlessly.
