Kano Castle Ruins Park is located in Kano Town, Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture. It is a park situated on the site of a castle once ruled by the Kamei clan during the Sengoku (Warring States) period. The stone walls and the remains of the inner and outer moats at the summit still showcase the advanced fortification techniques of that era. Today, the site is maintained as a public park, serving as a peaceful retreat for both locals and tourists. The park is particularly famous in the spring, when approximately 500 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in full, creating a breathtaking view where the pink blossoms harmonize with the ancient stone walls.
The site preserves the remains of the castle built by Kamei Katsunori during the Sengoku period. The structure, featuring high stone walls and defensive moats, serves as a testament to the military importance of this location in the past. Furthermore, the layout of the surrounding 'Kano Castle Town' still reflects the urban planning and governance established under the Kamei clan. The most striking feature of the park is the massive stone walls standing atop the hill and the panoramic views they offer.
