Kaiseizan Park is a large-scale comprehensive park in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, where urban nature and history exist in perfect harmony. Spanning approximately 30.3 hectares, the park features the beautiful Isuzu Lake at its heart. The most spectacular sight occurs in spring, when roughly 1,300 cherry trees—including some of the oldest Somei-Yoshino varieties in Japan—bloom and paint the lakeside in shades of pink. Following a major renovation in April 2024, the park has evolved into an even more attractive space, featuring a refreshed cafe, gardening shops, and an improved rose garden, making it a perfect destination for all generations to relax in nature.
