Kagura Ski Resort is one of Japan's most expansive and prestigious ski destinations, located in Yuzawa, Minamiuonuma District, Niigata Prefecture. Operated by Seibu Prince Hotels Worldwide, the resort is renowned for its high-quality snow and stunning natural scenery. The high-altitude areas, in particular, offer a breathtaking landscape paired with premium powder snow, making it a dream destination for enthusiasts. Beyond skiing and snowboarding, the resort provides a way to connect deeply with the changing beauty of Japan's seasons.
The area surrounding Kagura Ski Resort has a long history of coexistence with nature. The region is rich in local heritage, with historical sites nearby that tell stories of the past, including the era when local lords and goods were transported through these mountain passes. Today, this historical landscape has been transformed into a world-class winter sports hub that welcomes visitors to experience the seasonal beauty of the Niigata mountains.

The resort is divided into three distinct areas, each offering a unique experience:
Kagura Ski Resort boasts an incredibly long operating season. The Kagura and Mitsumata areas typically operate from late November through mid-May, while the Tashiro area operates from late December to early May. This allows visitors to enjoy skiing well into the spring. For the most reliable and premium powder experience, we highly recommend visiting between January and March.

In addition to downhill skiing and snowboarding, the resort offers a full range of services to enhance your stay. You can take professional lessons at specialized schools, rent high-quality gear at on-site rental shops, and enjoy a variety of meals at several restaurants located throughout the slopes. You can also find local Niigata specialties and ski accessories at the resort shops.
The resort is nestled within a landscape of rich natural beauty. Between runs, you can soak in the peaceful atmosphere of the Niigata countryside. Utilizing nearby facilities and local accommodations can further enrich your mountain experience.
Proper equipment is essential for safety. While high-quality rentals are available on-site, please ensure you bring warm clothing, gloves, goggles, and a helmet to handle the cold. Please check the official website for the latest information regarding lift tickets and seasonal services.
