Jonanjima Seaside Park is a waterfront park located in Jonanjima, Ota City, Tokyo. Situated extremely close to the runways of Haneda Airport, it has become a premier destination for aviation enthusiasts and photographers looking to capture the powerful sight of aircraft taking off and landing. The park features "Tsubasa-hama," an artificial beach where visitors can enjoy clam digging and water play, as well as a rare auto-camping site within the Tokyo metropolitan area. It offers a unique recreational environment where the energy of the sky, the sea, and the nearby urban infrastructure converge.
The area was developed as part of the land reclamation processes in Tokyo Bay. As Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport) expanded, the surrounding landscape and its uses have evolved. Today, the park serves as a vital space where nature and urban infrastructure coexist, acting as a hub for leisure, sports, and aviation observation. Management systems are in place to ensure that visitors can safely enjoy the spectacular sight of aircraft flying overhead.

The park offers a variety of spots tailored to different interests. For aviation fans, the "Observation Plaza" is a must-visit; because the runway lights for Haneda's Runway B are clearly visible, it is an ideal spot for high-quality photography. For nature lovers, "Tsubasa-hama" provides a chance to enjoy clam digging on the artificial beach. Additionally, the park is well-equipped for active lifestyles, featuring a popular "Skateboarding Plaza" and the "Tsubasa Dog Run," where you can spend time with your pets.
While the park is enjoyable year-round, it is particularly popular with families during the seasons when clam digging is permitted and during peak camping seasons. For plane spotting, bright daylight offers the best visibility for photography, but the silhouettes of aircraft against a sunset sky are also breathtaking. If you are using the campsite, we highly recommend the experience of looking up at the starry sky and the lights of passing aircraft in the quiet of the night. Please note that the Skateboard Plaza and Tsubasa-hama are primarily for daytime use.

Jonanjima Seaside Park allows you to escape daily life through diverse activities. At the auto-camping site, you can enjoy tent camping, car camping, or even day-trip barbecues, providing an outdoor experience while remaining close to the city. Skaters can hone their skills at the dedicated plaza, and others can simply relax while watching the sea or passing ships. Please note that swimming and fishing are strictly prohibited at Tsubasa-hama to ensure safety and environmental protection.
The surrounding area features several other interesting landmarks related to Haneda Airport. For instance, Keihinjima Tsubasa Park is located even closer to the runways, offering an even more intimate view of the aircraft. The Solamuna-do Haneda Green Space is another popular spot for aviation fans, offering an observation terrace with views of the airport. Exploring these nearby areas will give you a deeper appreciation of the Tokyo Bay waterfront area.
Since much of the park's appeal lies in active pursuits like camping, BBQ, and skateboarding, we recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing. If you plan to use the campsite, advance reservations are mandatory. While the park itself is generally open, please be aware that the Skateboard Plaza and the campsite are closed on Wednesdays (or the following Thursday if Wednesday is a public holiday). The parking lot closes at 21:00, so please plan your evening accordingly. Some camping equipment may be available for purchase or rental at the onsite shop.
