Kanno Park is a scenic urban park located at 1-1-3 Kannoen, Saga City, Saga Prefecture. The park is built upon the historic site of the villa of the 10th Saga clan lord, Nabeshima Naomasa, which was constructed in 1846. The land was later donated to Saga City in 1923. Situated on the west side of the Tafuse River, the park features a large central pond, a traditional Japanese garden, a small zoo, and a children's amusement park, making it a beloved destination for families and nature lovers.
The history of this park dates back to 1846 with the villa of the Saga lord, Nabeshima Naomasa. Visitors can see a statue of Eto Shimpei and experience the cultural heritage through the "Kanno no Ochaya" tea house and the "Kakurin-tei," a reconstructed tea house that preserves the historical atmosphere of the region. The site also contains elements related to the Japan Society of Civil Engineering's selected civil engineering heritage.
The park offers different scenic beauty throughout the seasons. In spring, the cherry blossom tree paths are a major draw. Near the central pond, visitors can observe dragonflies at "Tonbo Ike" (Dragonfly Pond). The small zoo houses various birds and rabbits, providing a close encounter with nature. The amusement park area features approximately nine types of rides, including a mini jet coaster, and a miniature steam locomotive (SL) that circles the park grounds.
The most beautiful time to visit is from March to April during the cherry blossom season, when the flowering trees create a stunning landscape. While the park itself is open 24 hours a day, please check local information before visiting to confirm the operating hours and availability of specific facilities and the amusement park rides.
Visitors can enjoy nature observation or play at the amusement park. The children's amusement park is designed primarily for preschoolers and younger children, featuring the popular miniature steam locomotive. Adjacent to the park is the Saga City Traffic Park, where children can experience cycling in a controlled environment that mimics real-world roads and traffic signals.
To the west of the park lies the Saga City Traffic Park, which opened in 1970. This facility allows children to practice riding bicycles in a setting with intersections and traffic lights. The park's location along the Tafuse River also provides a refreshing atmosphere with the gentle sound of the river nearby.

The park is accessible for visitors with disabilities, featuring wheelchair-friendly entrances and dedicated parking spaces.
