Iwaya Ryokuchi is an expansive 20.97-hectare green space located in Oiwa-cho, Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture. Developed as part of Toyohashi's urban planning, this area is designed to preserve and utilize the natural environment for the community. The park features a variety of landscapes shaped by its natural topography and vegetation, including well-maintained walking paths, rest areas, and a tranquil bamboo grove.
The facility was established as a public green space for Toyohashi City to maintain and manage the local natural environment. It serves as a vital green lung for the region, focusing on the preservation of nature alongside urban development. The area is maintained by local government administration to ensure a stable and protected natural habitat for the community.
The park offers several distinct walking paths that follow the natural terrain. Highlights include 'Walking Path 1,' which allows you to experience a more rugged, mountain-like trail; 'Walking Path 2,' which showcases specific plant characteristics; and the beautiful 'Bamboo Grove Path' (Takeyabu-michi), where you can enjoy the scenic beauty of a dense bamboo forest. Additionally, several rest areas are strategically placed throughout the park, allowing visitors to relax and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the surrounding nature.

Iwaya Ryokuchi is located in the eastern district of Toyohashi. For access, you can walk approximately 10 minutes from JR Futagawa Station on the JR Tokaido Main Line. Alternatively, you can take the Toyotetsu Bus (Futagawa Line) and alight at the 'Iwaya Koen-guchi' stop. Local community buses (Higashiyama Line) also serve the area.
Because the walking paths include terrain similar to mountain trails, we strongly recommend wearing comfortable, sturdy walking shoes. Please observe general park etiquette to protect the natural environment.
