The Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum is a sanctuary where you can trace the footsteps of Isamu Noguchi (1904–1988), one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th century. Located in Mure, Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, this is the site where Noguchi established his atelier and residence for over 20 years starting in 1969. In accordance with his legacy, the museum presents a holistic "environmental sculpture"—a space where the atelier, exhibition storehouses, the Isamu family residence, and the sculpture garden are integrated into one. The sculptures, thoughtfully placed within the natural landscape, offer visitors a profound sense of tranquility and a deep connection to the earth.
Isamu Noguchi was a versatile artist whose work spanned monuments, gardens, furniture, lighting, and stage design. The museum operates on a scheduled tour system, and opening hours vary by season. From January to June and September to December, tours are held three times a day at 10:00, 13:00, and 15:00. During July and August, there are two sessions at 10:00 and 11:30. The changing light and wind patterns throughout the seasons make every visit unique. Visiting during the quiet afternoon hours allows you to experience the profound atmosphere where the art and the environment become one. Please note that there are separate closing days during the winter period (late December to early January) and mid-August; it is highly recommended to check the official schedule before your visit.

As you will be walking through the outdoor sculpture garden and around the atelier, we strongly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.
