Iyarisatsumai Wetland is a low-moor wetland located in the northern Azumino area of Omachi City, Nagano Prefecture, situated east of Lake Kizaki. Spanning an area approximately 130m wide and 500m to 1,500m in length, it is officially designated as a Natural Monument of Nagano Prefecture. During the rainy season, the vibrant purple hues of Siberian Iris (Kakitsubata), Irises, and Japanese Iris become a stunning sight. The best time to visit depends on the season you wish to experience. From late March to early May, you can enjoy the blooming of Skunk Cabbage and Japanese Magnolia. In June, the Siberian Iris reaches its peak beauty. In winter, the landscape offers a different charm; if you have a 4WD vehicle, you can access the vicinity and observe the frozen wetland scenery using snowshoes.
