Ikomasanjo Amusement Park is a historic destination located at an altitude of approximately 642 meters on Mt. Ikoma in Nara Prefecture. Since its opening in 1929, it has been a beloved spot for generations. The park offers spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The park has a long and storied history, having opened its doors in 1929 (Showa 4). Over the decades, the area developed as a major leisure hub, once featuring the Ikoma Mountain Tourist Hotel, an astronomical museum, and a space science center. The "Hiko-to Tower" stands as a symbolic structure that evokes a sense of nostalgia and history. Since 1999, the park has operated with no admission fee to the grounds, serving as an open, community-rooted facility. In recent years, the park has successfully balanced the preservation of its traditional attractions with modern renovations and the introduction of cutting-edge play areas to meet contemporary needs.
The park features a diverse range of attractions, from nostalgic rides that capture the essence of the past to modern, large-scale play equipment. The iconic Hiko-to Tower is an essential part of the park's landscape. The experience also shifts significantly between day and night; while daytime offers bright and clear vistas, the nighttime brings a more mystical feeling with illuminated displays. Please keep in mind that because the park is located at a high altitude, the temperature may be lower than in the city below.

Access to the amusement park is via the Kintense Ikoma Cable Car from Kintense Ikoma Station. The surrounding area also offers scenic driving routes, such as the Shikima Ikoma Skyline, making it easy to combine a visit to the park with a scenic drive. Surrounded by rich natural beauty, it is an excellent location for mountain-side leisure.
Due to the high altitude, the temperature can feel cooler than at ground level. We recommend bringing clothing that allows you to adjust to the temperature easily. For payments, the park accepts cash, various credit cards, and transportation IC cards (such as Suica/Pasmo). While English maps and signs are available, please note that detailed communication may be limited. No advanced reservations are required, but please be aware that certain attractions may be affected by weather conditions such as strong winds.
