Ibaraki University Institute for Research in Art and Culture (Rokkaku-do & Former Tenshin Residence)

The site preserves the historic buildings once inhabited by the giants of modern Japanese art, including Okakura Tenshin, Yokoyama Taikan, Hishida Shunso, Shimomura Kanzo, and Kimura Buizan. The Rokkaku-do temple offers a particularly serene atmosphere. For a truly magical experience, visit during the evening light-up (sunset to 21:00), which reveals a mystical side of the architecture.
