Guide
Located in Kasai City, Hyogo Prefectural Flower Center is an expansive botanical garden that offers a profound connection with nature. The garden is meticulously designed to showcase the changing seasons, allowing visitors to enjoy a diverse array of flora year-round. The highlight of the center is its world-class greenhouse collection, which features an impressive variety of species including tuberous begonias, carnivorous plants, and orchids, making it one of the premier botanical destinations in the region.
Established in 1976, this facility serves as both a center for public enjoyment and a space for botanical research and exhibition. The center plays a vital role in preserving and communicating botanical culture through its specialized greenhouses and seasonal display areas, ensuring that the beauty of diverse plant life is accessible to all.

The garden is divided into two main sections: the North and South areas. The North area features specialized gardens such as the Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Garden, Rhododendron Garden, Peony Garden, Hydrangea Garden, and the Azalea Path, each offering breathtaking seasonal views. The central area is anchored by the scenic Kaminokura Pond, which creates a beautiful landscape backdrop. The greenhouse area is particularly noteworthy, housing specialized rooms for Four Seasons Flowers, Tuberous Begonias, Tropical Plants, Gesneriads, Orchids, and Carnivorous Plants. The collection of carnivorous plants and begonias is exceptionally rare and highly regarded by enthusiasts.
The garden's character shifts beautifully with the seasons. In spring, enjoy the elegance of cherry blossoms, peonies, and hydrangeas. Summer brings lush tropical plants and vibrant azaleas, while autumn offers a different palette of seasonal colors. For the best experience, we recommend visiting in the early morning when the air is crisp and the plants look most vibrant. Additionally, the greenhouses provide a perfect refuge regardless of the weather, allowing you to observe exotic flora even on cloudy or rainy days.

Visitors can engage in a deep observation of nature's intricate systems. By exploring the various specialized rooms within the greenhouse, you can see rare species like tropical plants and exotic carnivorous plants up close—a rare opportunity for most travelers. A stroll through the vast grounds, surrounded by seasonal blooms, offers a meditative and relaxing escape from daily life.
The center is nestled within the lush natural landscape of Kasai City. After your botanical tour, we recommend exploring the surrounding area to enjoy the scenic rural landscapes and local charm that define this part of Hyogo Prefecture.

As the grounds are quite large and involve walking through various garden paths, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and casual clothing. Since the greenhouse maintains specific temperature and humidity levels, it is wise to dress in layers to stay comfortable. Please respect the botanical displays and follow all posted rules to help protect the delicate plant life during your visit.
