The garden's origins trace back to a person who brought flower cultivation to this region. A former pharmacist, this individual cleared the mountainside and planted various flowers and trees with the vision of supporting the local industry and enriching the community's way of life. This historical legacy has shaped the garden into the beautiful landscape it is today. The winter cherry blossoms were named "Gencho-zakura" because they bloom around the time of the traditional Lunar New Year (Genjitsu).
