The Hoki Museum, located in Midori-ku, Chiba City, is a specialized institution dedicated to hyper-realistic (realism) painting. The building is characterized by a modern architectural design featuring smooth, white curves that harmonize beautifully with the surrounding natural landscape. The collection focuses on paintings executed with extraordinary technical precision, showcasing the absolute height of human skill.
The museum was established to promote and develop the art of hyper-realism. The museum is open from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Please note that the last admission is at 5:00 PM. If you present your ticket on the same day, you are permitted re-entry. The museum is closed on Tuesdays and during certain periods for exhibition changes or the New Year holidays; please check the official calendar before visiting. Visiting during the bright daylight hours allows you to enjoy the harmony between the building's exterior and the surrounding greenery.
The facility features the restaurant "Hana-u" and a museum cafe. During lunchtime, you can enjoy menus featuring local Chiba ingredients, while dinner service is strictly by reservation only. A special "Waku Waku Plan" (limited to 10 guests per day) is also available, which includes an admission ticket, lunch, and a cafe drink set. After your visit, you can also take a relaxing stroll through the adjacent Showa no Mori park.
