In addition to the main arena, the West Building features a professional-grade heated pool certified by the Japan Swimming Federation (Nissui-ren), allowing for high-level indoor aquatic activities and training year-round.
The facility was developed as a core component of the Hiratsuka City General Park, a major urban green space. In 2014, the naming rights were acquired by Tokkei Security Co., Ltd., a company headquartered in Hiratsuka, leading to its current name, "Tokkei Security Hiratsuka General Gymnasium." The venue has a distinguished history of hosting major events, including serving as a venue for table tennis during the 53rd National Sports Festival (Kanagawa Yume Kokutai), cementing its role as a vital piece of local sporting infrastructure.
The gymnasium is recognized as a professional-grade arena. It frequently hosts high-level basketball and volleyball matches, serving as a home or official venue for teams such as the Yokohama B-Corsairs, Kawasaki Brave Thunders, Yokohama Exiles, Shonan United BC, and the Fujitsu Red Wave (Women's W-League). Beyond the court, the heated pool in the West Building offers a professional environment for competitive swimming and fitness-focused training.
The facility is open six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 08:30 and 21:00. Please note that the facility is closed on Mondays.
