It serves as a central hub for tourism, food, and local industry, offering visitors a delightful and surprising experience.
History & Cultural Background
This area was developed as a cornerstone for both tourism and local industry, leveraging the abundant natural gifts of the sea in Himi. By utilizing its prime location along the beautiful coastline of Toyama Bay, the facility is designed to provide a space where visitors can fully immerse themselves in the local culinary culture and the traditions of the region.

Main Attractions
There are three primary ways to enjoy Himi Banya-gai: "Eat," "Shop," and "View." You can enjoy a wide range of gourmet experiences at the food courts and restaurants featuring fresh seafood, or browse the various shops for local delicacies. The stunning coastal scenery is also a major draw. Additionally, the facility is adjacent to a hot spring area, allowing you to relax and unwind while enjoying the ocean view.
Seasonal & Time-Specific Recommendations
Operating hours vary depending on the specific area or shop within the facility. Generally, the retail shops, fresh fish market, and food courts are open from 8:30 to 18:00; however, fresh seafood is often sold out quickly, so an early morning visit is highly recommended. For dining, food service typically runs from 11:00 to 18:00, while conveyor belt sushi (kaiten-sushi) restaurants are open from 10:00 to 20:00. Please adjust your schedule based on your dining needs. If you wish to enjoy a meal later in the evening, we recommend checking the specific operating hours of the sushi restaurants in advance.
Experiences & Activities
Here, you can directly experience the bounty of the Toyama sea. Enjoy a gourmet experience by tasting high-quality seafood on the spot, or enjoy shopping for unique local specialties. For a truly luxurious travel plan, you can combine your visit with the adjacent hot spring facility, "Soyu," to soothe your fatigue after a day of eating and shopping.
Surrounding Area
Located right next to Himi Banya-gai is the "Soyu" hot spring facility. The area is perfect for enjoying the scenic coastal views, and there are various other tourist facilities scattered throughout Himi City. You can enjoy a relaxing stroll around the coast while taking in the beautiful ocean scenery.
What to Bring, Clothing & Etiquette
As this is a seaside facility, it is best to wear clothing that allows you to adapt to changing weather and temperatures. While many shops and restaurants accept credit cards and transportation IC cards, some smaller vendors or specific stalls may still require cash. For large groups or specific menu items, we recommend calling ahead to make a reservation or confirm availability.
