Guide
Herb Garden Tabinikki Katsunuma Garden is a themed garden where you can truly feel the presence of flowers, scents, greenery, and the breeze. The garden features a rotating cast of herbs and flowers that change with the seasons, inviting visitors into a world of tranquility. The most distinctive feature is the ability to actually touch the herbs within the garden, allowing you to experience their textures and fragrances with your fingertips. Through this direct contact with nature, you can forget the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the luxury of sharpening your five senses.
This garden is much more than just a place for visual appreciation; it is a cherished space dedicated to sharing the culture of herbs and the joy of handmade crafts. The garden is managed with great care to ensure that visitors can feel the vitality of plants through direct interaction, fostering a deep connection with the local environment and the seasonal cycles of nature. It serves as a place where the wisdom of using herbs in daily life is passed down through experiential learning.

The garden features beautiful flower beds filled with seasonal blooms and a grand greenhouse where you can enjoy herbs year-round. The greenhouse is particularly enchanting during the colder months of autumn and winter, creating a cozy, fragrant sanctuary amidst the chill. Because all the herbs in the garden are meant to be touched, you can directly experience the tactile textures and aromatic profiles of the plants. An on-site shop and cafe are also available, allowing you to unwind and spend a relaxing time between your strolls.
Each season offers a unique charm. In spring and summer, you can fully enjoy the vibrant beauty of flowers in full bloom. In autumn, the garden offers a more subdued, contemplative atmosphere as the seasons shift. During the winter, the grand greenhouse becomes the highlight; even on chilly days, you can relax in the warm air, enveloped by various herbal scents. An ideal way to visit is to start your stroll during the relatively cool morning hours and then enjoy a relaxing break at the cafe later in the day.

The "Tezukuri Kobo" (Handmade Workshop) offers a variety of hands-on activities that are enjoyable for both children and adults. For example, you can create your own original herbal goods, such as beautiful, translucent gel candle holders or even try your hand at extracting essential oils. These experiences provide a precious opportunity to turn your journey into a tangible memory. Please note that registration for these activities takes place at the flower shop located immediately to the right upon entering the garden.
The Katsunuma area is also highly famous as a premier wine-producing region. After your healing experience at the herb garden, a wonderful plan is to visit nearby wineries or enjoy a lunch while overlooking the stunning scenery. You can enjoy a luxurious holiday that combines the delicate scents of plants with the rich, sophisticated aromas of local wine in a beautiful natural setting.

As the garden is a natural environment, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Depending on the season, it is helpful to bring a hat for sun protection or a light jacket to adjust to temperature changes. When interacting with the herbs, please handle them gently to avoid damaging the plants. Please check the 'Inbound Tips' section below for details regarding payments and workshop registration.
