Inside the visitor center, visitors can explore various exhibits and video presentations that detail the historical journey of this land, allowing for a deeper understanding of the region's cultural and political heritage alongside its natural beauty.
The primary draw of Cape Henza is the sheer scale of its cliffs and the vast, untamed ocean scenery. Well-maintained walking paths allow visitors to stroll along the coastline and feel the power of the ocean. The visitor center is a three-story building designed for convenience: the first floor features exhibits on nature and local history, the second floor houses a cozy cafe, and the third floor serves as an observation deck. It is an ideal spot to watch the waves and observe the distant islands floating on the horizon.
While Cape Henza is accessible year-round, the experience is highly dependent on the weather. Because the view of Yoron Island is much clearer on bright days, we highly recommend checking the weather forecast before your visit. While the natural scenery is best enjoyed during daylight hours, please note the operating hours of the visitor center facilities. Since lighting is limited at night, visiting during the day is most recommended for the best views.

For a more relaxed experience, you can watch educational videos or browse exhibits at the visitor center. The second-floor cafe offers a perfect place to take a break with a stunning ocean backdrop. Cape Henza is located in Kunigami Village in the northern part of Okinawa Island. The surrounding area is rich in natural beauty, part of the Yanbaru region, and features various facilities related to the forest and local history. If you are traveling by public transport, most visitors arrive via bus routes from Nago City.
