HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR is a premier terrace facility located at the summit of Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort, at an altitude of 1,289m in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture. Its most defining feature is the breathtaking panoramic view of the Hakuba Sanzan (the three peaks of Hakuba: Mt. Shirouma, Mt. Shakushi, and Mt. Shirouma-Yarigatake) in the Northern Alps. In this open-air space at the summit, visitors can feel the grandeur of nature while enjoying meals at cafes and restaurants. It has become a destination of interest for travelers worldwide seeking a high-end mountain resort experience that changes beautifully with every season.
The Hakuba area has a long history of development as both a center for mountain worship and a premier ski resort. HAKUBA MOUNTAIN HARBOR was established at this high altitude to allow modern travelers to enjoy the mountain scenery with maximum comfort and luxury. Rather than being just a simple observation deck, it serves as a new form of summit resort that blends local food culture with outdoor activities, showcasing the unique charm of the region.

The greatest draw is the spectacular view of the Hakuba Sanzan peaks stretching before your eyes. On clear days, the snow-capped peaks, the beautiful pastoral landscapes below, and the streets of Hakuba village appear in vivid detail. The facility features several shops, including cafe-restaurants that serve local delicacies. For example, the White Plaza's "Sobasuke Hakuba Iwatake Store" offers dishes made with their unique, signature dashi broth. The scenery changes with every season, and the area also serves as a base for activities like trekking and mountain biking.
While the area is charming year-round, the Green Season (Spring to Autumn) is particularly wonderful; the contrast between the vibrant greenery and the blue sky makes for a perfect time to relax at a terrace seat. In autumn, the landscape is painted with rich colors from the changing foliage. In winter, it transforms into a hub for winter sports, offering a magical experience amidst the snow. For the best views, we recommend visiting during the bright daylight hours when the weather is stable, as this is when the details of the Hakuba Sanzan peaks are most clearly visible.

Access to the summit is provided via a gondola lift. Once you arrive, you can spend a relaxing time enjoying coffee or a meal while gazing at the scenery. The entire Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort area offers a wide variety of seasonal activities, including trekking, mountain biking, and winter sports. A common way to enjoy the area is to engage in outdoor activities and then take a restful break at a summit cafe.
There are many other sightseeing spots within Hakuba Village. The area features charming, traditional landscapes that are highly popular with international travelers. With an abundance of ski resorts, hot spring (onsen) facilities, and various accommodations, you can fully enjoy your stay amidst the rich natural environment at the foot of the Northern Alps.

The summit at 1,289m tends to be significantly cooler than the ground level. Regardless of the season, we highly recommend bringing a jacket or warm clothing. Please note that the use of drones is prohibited unless you have obtained special permission from the media or relevant authorities. Access to the summit is not possible via private vehicles; you must use the gondola lift from the parking area at the base. For payments, credit cards are widely accepted in addition to cash.
