Goshokō Wide Area Park is a comprehensive recreational facility centered around Lake Goshoko in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture. The park's layout utilizes the natural topography formed by the Goshodam Dam, one of the five major dams of the Kitakami River, ensuring a design that harmonizes with the environment. The main operating season for the park is from April 1st to November 30th. During the summer, you may encounter seasonal events such as morning markets organized by the Tsunagi Onsen Tourism Association. Please note that the Vehicle Park operates on a limited schedule from mid-April to early November. Depending on when you visit, you can experience different charms: the blooming flora of spring, refreshing water activities in summer, or the breathtaking scenery of autumn. Visiting during the warmer months also allows you to easily combine your trip with a visit to nearby hot spring resorts.
A wide variety of activities are available for all skill levels. Children can enjoy battery-powered cars, cycle trains, and even woodcraft experiences like making bird calls or bird feeders. For sports enthusiasts, the Goshodai Bridge Sports Ground features baseball fields and tennis courts. The area surrounding the park is rich with tourism and relaxation resources. The park is easily accessible from Morioka City center and Morioka Station via car or bus.
