Fuji Kachoen is a unique flower and bird-themed park located in the Asagiri Plateau at the western foot of Mt. Fuji in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture. The facility features a fully climate-controlled environment, ensuring that you can enjoy the beauty of seasonal flowers and interact with various bird species regardless of the weather or outside temperature. It offers a perfect sanctuary to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The facility originally opened in 1990 as the "Fuji International Garden." In 2008, it was renamed to its current name, "Fuji Kachoen." For many years, it has been operated as a specialized theme park that beautifully combines the natural elements of flora and fauna.
The centerpiece of the park is a large, climate-controlled greenhouse where vibrant flowers bloom throughout the year. This space allows for close-up interactions with a wide variety of birds. Please note that the specific types of birds on display and the exhibition styles may vary depending on the season and operational updates.
Operating hours vary depending on the season. During the summer season (April 1 to November 30), the park is open from 9:00 to 17:00. During the winter season (December 1 to March 31), the hours are 9:00 to 16:00. Please note the last admission times: 16:30 for summer and 15:30 for winter. Because the plant displays change with the seasons, the scenery offers a fresh experience every time you visit.
Visitors can enjoy hands-on experiences centered around interacting with the birds. You can observe the birds up close or even experience direct contact. Additionally, the park occasionally hosts seasonal events and special activities, such as riddle-solving games.

Since the facility is fully air-conditioned, you can stay comfortable regardless of the season, though we recommend wearing appropriate clothing for the outdoor weather when traveling to and from the site. Please note that payment at the reception desk is primarily cash-based. Additionally, tickets cannot be refunded once purchased, so please confirm your plans in advance. We kindly ask that you follow all facility manners to ensure a respectful environment for both the birds and the plants.
