Fuefukigawa Fruit Park is a landmark urban park located in the Koto region of Yamanashi Prefecture, symbolizing the area's rich fruit-growing culture. Developed under the theme of "Flowers, Fruit, and Wine," the park features a diverse array of plants and fruits that change beautifully with each season. The expansive grounds offer a perfect blend of nature and leisure, featuring orchards, greenhouses, a museum, and dedicated play areas for children.
Since the Edo period, this region has been famous for cultivating "Koshu Hachinka," a collection of eight precious and highly valued fruits. The tradition of cultivating peaches and grapes continues today, and the park's orchards are designed to reflect this historical heritage. The park serves as a modern way to preserve and share the local fruit culture with visitors.
The park is designed to showcase the changing seasons through its flora and fruit. The orchards, particularly the peach and grape sections, allow visitors to observe the growth stages of the fruit up close. Additionally, the onsite greenhouse and museum provide opportunities to deepen your knowledge of plant and fruit cultivation. For families, the park offers various activities, including the "Aqua Athletic" water-based play area and the "Wanpaku Dome," an indoor facility that allows children to play even during inclement weather.
The park's greatest charm is the ability to witness the growth of fruit and flowers throughout the year. From spring to summer, you can observe the development of peaches and grapes, while other seasons offer a different palette of seasonal blooms. The park is open from 09:00 to 17:30 on weekdays (Monday–Friday) and until 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays. Daytime visits are highly recommended for the best experience in the orchards and play areas.
There is a wide variety of activities available for all ages. Children will enjoy the outdoor Aqua Athletic water play or the indoor Wanpaku Dome. For a more tranquil experience, visitors can stroll through the orchards to observe the seasonal bounty. The park is structured to encourage physical activity and engagement with the natural environment.
Fuefukigawa Fruit Park is situated in the heart of Yamanashi's fruit-producing region. The surrounding area is dotted with facilities that sell fresh seasonal fruits and various establishments related to wine production, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the local fruit culture.
Because the park covers a large area, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. For payments at onsite facilities and shops, both cash and credit cards (such as Visa and MasterCard) are accepted. While most areas do not require reservations, please check in advance for specific events or special facility uses. Please follow local signage regarding photography and respect the natural environment and facilities during your visit.
