Guide
Dynaland is a multi-season resort located in the Takasu area of Gujo, Gifu Prefecture, designed to provide leisure experiences throughout the entire year. While winter focuses on high-quality skiing and snowboarding, the facility is famous for its diverse offerings, such as the 'Yoru-Daina' night skiing sessions and the 'Baboon' play area for children during the summer months. The ability to experience the slopes under the night lights or enjoy the natural scenery in the warmer months makes it a beloved destination for all ages.
Nestled at the foot of Mt. Dainichi, Dynaland has long been a cornerstone of the regional winter sports community. It sits within a prestigious ski resort zone alongside other famous areas like Hirugano Kogen, benefiting from the high-quality snow and rich natural environment of the Gifu mountains. The facility successfully transitions its use with the seasons, ensuring that even when the snow melts, the local community and visitors can still enjoy the area through nature-based activities and play areas.

The facility caters to a wide range of visitors, from serious athletes to families with young children. In winter, the night skiing area allows enthusiasts to glide under illuminated slopes until late at night. For families, the 'Baboon' area provides a wealth of entertainment, including long swings, mini zip lines, and even sled coasters, ensuring fun even outside the snow season. Visitors can also enjoy breathtaking views from the lifts and the seasonal beauty of the surrounding flora.
During the winter season (December to March), the focus is on skiing and snowboarding. A highlight is the 'Yoru-Daina' night skiing, where you can enjoy a magical atmosphere on the slopes until 23:00. In contrast, the summer season (roughly July to October) sees parts of the slope transformed into a playground, making it an ideal time for outdoor nature activities. Additionally, from December 20 to March 15, early morning operations are available on weekends and holidays, perfect for those seeking a peaceful ride in the crisp morning air.
Beyond standard skiing and snowboarding, Dynaland offers various ways to experience the snow, including snowscooting and dual boarding. During the warmer months, the focus shifts to the play areas and nature walks. To make the most of your visit, it is highly recommended to check the official calendar for seasonal events and competitions that add extra excitement to your stay.
For maximum convenience, the resort is adjacent to the 'Villa Montsenard' hotel, making it an excellent choice for an all-in-one resort stay. There are also numerous local guesthouses and cottages in the vicinity, suitable for groups or large families. The location also serves as an excellent base for exploring the Shiratori area and the broader Hirugano Kogen-style mountain scenery of Gifu.
For winter visitors, please prepare heavy thermal wear, gloves, goggles, and a helmet. Regarding payments, both cash and credit cards (single payment only) are accepted. Please note that credit card transactions are only available at the facility after business hours have commenced. Pets are strictly prohibited on the premises. Additionally, as the facility does not provide ski insurance, we strongly recommend that you purchase personal accident or sports insurance through your provider before arrival.
