Doho Park is a vast recreational space located in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, where rich natural beauty and modern facilities blend seamlessly. At the heart of the park lies the beautiful Doho-numa Lake, surrounded by lush vegetation. The park offers a changing landscape through the four seasons, making it a popular destination for walking, picnics, sports, and nature observation. The harmony between the calm water surface and the surrounding greenery provides a deeply relaxing atmosphere for all visitors.
Developed to preserve the natural environment and provide community leisure space, Doهم Park is managed as a municipal park. The name of the park and its central feature, Doho-numa, symbolize the natural heritage of this region. In recent years, the park has become a hub for community-led initiatives, including collaborations with NPOs to promote biodiversity and nature observation, practicing a modern way of coexisting with and protecting the local ecosystem.

The centerpiece of the park is Doho-numa Lake. With a depth of less than 5 meters, it maintains a rich ecosystem where various aquatic plants thrive. A well-maintained walking path circles the lake, allowing visitors to enjoy the reflection of trees on the water, seasonal birdwatching, and observing local wildlife. The park is also famous for its seasonal botanical beauty, such as the Rose Festa, spring roses, the golden colors of the ginkgo tree-lined paths in autumn, and the vibrant hydrangeas in the summer.
Each season offers a unique charm. In spring, you can enjoy blooming roses and birdwatching; in summer, the lush greenery and swimming pool are highlights; autumn brings the stunning colors of the ginkgo trees; and winter offers a peaceful, quiet landscape. For the best experience, visiting during the mild weather of spring or autumn is highly recommended for picnics and strolls. Please note that specific events like nature walks or birdwatching sessions are held seasonally and may require checking the schedule in advance.

Doho Park is well-equipped for active visitors. It features tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, and multi-purpose fields, allowing you to stay active amidst nature. Beyond sports, the park hosts various educational and community-based activities, such as plant exploration workshops and local events, providing a wonderful way to learn about the local ecosystem through hands-on experience.
The area surrounding the park is characterized by the natural beauty of Tsukuba. Nearby, you can find cultural facilities like the Tsukuba New City Memorial Museum and various NPO bases that focus on nature observation, allowing you to explore the intersection of culture and nature in this region.

As the park is quite large, please prepare accordingly for walking or sports. If you plan to use the tennis courts, specialized tennis shoes are required. For the swimming pool, please bring your swimwear and necessary gear. Note that locker room usage involves a small fee (100 JPY), so it is helpful to carry small change. While photography is generally permitted, please be mindful of restrictions during specific events or in certain areas. To protect the environment, visitors are asked to take their trash home and respect the natural surroundings.
