Chisuji Falls is a stunning natural landmark located in Kowakudani, Hakone. Measuring approximately 25m wide and 3m high, its name—meaning "a thousand threads of water"—perfectly describes the sight of countless delicate streams cascading down the rock face. The waterfall flows over a unique geological formation of rounded pebbles, creating a curtain-like effect. Historically, the Kowakudani area was a rugged, undeveloped land known as "Ko-jigoku" until the Meiji era. The path to the falls was later developed during the Taisho era by Kyozo Enomoto, the founder of Mikawaya Ryokan. This development allowed travelers to access the area, and in the past, small tea houses once lined the path, making it a popular destination for those enjoying the natural beauty of Hakone.
