Chichibu Muse Park is a massive comprehensive park covering approximately 375 hectares, spanning across Chichibo City and Ogamino Town in Saitama Prefecture. Developed through a collaboration between Saitama Prefecture, Chichibu City, and the Seibu Group, the park is divided into three main areas: the "Sports Forest Zone," "Music Forest Zone," and "Culture Forest Zone." These areas are seamlessly connected by the "Sky Road," a scenic 3km path. The park is a multi-purpose destination featuring music halls, outdoor stages, the Muse Spring, beautiful gardens, sports facilities, and various cafes, making it an ideal spot for both active recreation and peaceful relaxation.
The facility was established as part of a resort development project involving the Saitama Prefecture, Chichibu City, and the Seibu Group. Since opening in 1991, it has served as a vital hub for regional recreation and cultural activities. The park was designed to harmonize with the natural environment, providing a space where visitors can experience music, sports, and culture in a way that respects and celebrates the local landscape. It serves not just as a park, but as a community center for both locals and tourists.
There is something for everyone at Chichibu Muse Park. In the Music Forest Zone, you can enjoy the harmony of sound and nature at the music hall or outdoor stage. For those seeking relaxation, the Muse Spring and the grand gardens offer peaceful retreats. For adventure seekers, "Forest Adventure Chichibu" features one of Japan's largest zip-line courses with 7 different slides, providing an exhilarating high-altitude experience. After your adventure, visit the cafe "MAPLE BASE" to enjoy delicious treats, such as pancakes topped with authentic maple syrup sourced from local Chichibu maple trees.
The park offers different charms throughout the seasons. May, October, and November are particularly recommended, as the weather is pleasant for exploring the vast grounds. The ginkgo tree avenues provide beautiful seasonal scenery, making it a wonderful time for a stroll or a cafe break. While the bright daylight hours are perfect for active sports and the Forest Adventure, the late afternoon and evening offer a serene atmosphere for quiet rest and reflection.

Nearby, you can visit Chichibu Shrine, which preserves architectural styles from the early Edo period, or explore "Hot Spot Chichibu," a building renovated from a merchant inn from the early Meiji era. Additionally, you can visit "Yao Honten Sake Brewery Forest" to learn about local sake production and sample regional specialties. These sites offer a deeper connection to the local culture alongside your visit to the park.
Because the park is very large, we highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes. Regarding payments, while major cafes and certain facilities accept credit cards and transit IC cards, some small shops or local bus services may require cash. If you plan to try the Forest Adventure, please check the official website in advance for availability and age requirements (minimum 4th grade/approx. 10 years old). Photography is generally permitted, though restrictions may apply during specific events or within certain facilities.
